A New Era in Respiratory Monitoring

Failure to detect and treat respiratory compromise results in significant human and economic impact, associated with increased hospital length-of-stay (15 days), costs ($26,571) and mortality risk (39.4%). Today, there is no non-invasive continuous monitoring solution for both respiratory rate and volume.

Our solution, the RIBBON device, has the potential to eliminate delayed diagnosis, enabling earlier intervention for better patient outcomes at lower costs.

Ethics Statement

RIBBON is currently in technology testing phase, we are pre-prototype and make no clinical claims.

The RIBBON Value Proposition

RIBBON is a wearable non-invasive respiratory device that helps clinicians and patients by providing them with continuous, qualitative lung performance data from every single breath.

Unlike other methods, the RIBBON device aims to measure lung volumes continuously and easily, solving an age-old problem of obtaining continuous insight into changes in the quantity of every human breath over time.

There is no widely adopted, non-invasive solution for continuous lung monitoring of respiratory volume outside the ICU, which our KOLs have identified as the key unmet need.

Continuous ‘Respiratory Volume’ Data

RIBBON measures the entire breathing volume curve, creating entirely new data possibilities for both general ward and remote patient monitoring.

  • Brings ambulatory data for continuous breathing measurement, enabling optimization of care in varied patient environments.

  • Creates continuous realtime metrics and a potential new vital sign, for Medicine, Personal Care & Lifestyle.

  • RIBBON Medical is an Irish startup, based in Trinity College Dublin, looking to partner for growth and development.
